Module Aims and Objectives
The purpose of this module is to develop the student’s ability to apply and critically evaluate Leadership concepts, theories and techniques related to organisational strategy and the implementation of strategic change. Students will be introduced to a managerial view of strategic processes and change implementation, developing the skills to understand the macro and micro business environment, in the context of their own organisation and those in the domestic and global environment.

In today’s environment managers are generally responsible and accountable for the financial consequences of their decision making. The module aims to provide students with a sound understanding of financial management, to develop an ability to interpret financial information and to enable an understanding of the implications of financial information in managerial decision making. The emphasis of the module is on understanding and acting upon financial information rather than on preparing it and therefore addresses themes which relate to how managers may use financial information to support decisions.

This module will enable students to consider, evaluate and apply current operations management and financial analysis theories, principles and practice in a variety of complex business scenarios. The module will cover relationships between operations and financial strategies and operations and financial performance objectives, the relationships between operations and financial information and the alignment of operational strategies and financial resources.

Module Aims and Objectives
The purpose of this module is to develop the student’s ability to apply and critically evaluate concepts, theories and techniques related to marketing management within a strategic and relationship marketing context. The goal of marketing activity has shifted towards a need to seek and forge long-term and profitable relationships with targeted customers. This will be reflected in this module as students will be introduced to a managerial view of marketing and realise the need to build and sustain relationships with customers both nationally and internationally.


Description and Aims of the Module

This module aims to enable students to critically appraise digital marketing strategies and planning in order to assess, develop and implement appropriate digital marketing strategies in a variety of scenarios.

 Specific aims will enable students to:
(a) Develop an outline digital marketing strategy for an organisation to include environmental analysis, objective identification, operational planning with emphasis on resource constraints and KPIs
(b) Identify and focus on the strategic challenges of "always-on" engagement as a key component of the shift to digitised businesses


Module Rationale, Aims and Objectives

This module will enable students to develop an understanding of organisations and be able to discuss some of the fundamental concepts of business. Students will be encouraged to apply appropriate business models to understand and analyse business problems.

Overview and Objectives
This module provides an introduction to the key principles of Accounting and Economics. It is designed for students who have never studied business subjects before and who may not be native speakers of English. 

The material is not intended to be a test of computational ability. Numbers will be used to explain some topics but it is the ideas presented in the topics that are the most important. The module is not intended to promote political or cultural views but rather to give a basic introduction to these two fields and the relationship between them.

Module Rationale, Aims and Objectives
The purpose of this module is to develop the student’s knowledge of the fundamental mathematical definitions and techniques in English that will be appropriate for their studies on the International Foundation Programme and increase students ‘confidence when they subsequently study at undergraduate level.

The module will develop the student’s ability to apply judgement in correctly selecting a range of mathematical tools and techniques to interpret and analyse business problems.


Module Rationale, Aims and Objectives
The module aims to further develop student academic study and communication skills necessary to succeed on their future undergraduate programme. Students will apply the analytical, academic and linguistic skills developed in the Academic English and IFP subject module classes.

Students will also develop their communication skills through participating with others in a variety of contexts including seminars and tutorials; writing narratives, descriptions and academic documents.

In addition, students will appreciate the importance of independent learning through private study and reflection on their own learning.
